How to use

To make a henna paste to decorate the body add 2 tablespoons of black tea water to 3 spoons of henna powder and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Keep adding tea water and mix it well until it turns into a thick honey-like paste before putting it into a henna cone. It is advised to leave the henna to rest for an hour or two before using it.
To make a henna paste to dye the hair add 4 tablespoons of warm water and/or our Zamzam and Omani Green Hojari Frankincense Water to 5 tablespoons of henna powder and mix until it forms a paste that has the consistency of thick honey. This will give your hair a red colour tone.

To make a dark brown dye paste add some sage tea to the mix and add more henna powder until you achieve the right consistency. Cover this with cling film and leave it in the fridge overnight in a glass container before using it. Once the mixture has warmed up after taking it out of the fridge, apply the mixture to your hair and scalp and then cover it with a shower cap for at least 3 hours or until it completely dries before washing it out. We recommend you use our Henna, Sage and Aloe Vera Soap as a shampoo bar for maximum benefits.

Full product description

Arabian weddings in the Gulf region are often hosted after a traditional and colourful event called a henna night, or ‘ghomra’ that often takes place in the bride’s family house. During this event, the bride’s hands and feet are beautifully adorned with henna art and she wears a traditional beaded and decorated gown accompanied by gold accessories, such as bangles, that are usually a gift for her from her fiance. In some countries and cities, such as Madina in Saudi Arabia, the henna party is a must, as it connects people to their roots and traditions. In this night, friends and family members give the bride valuable and expensive gifts from gold to precious stone jewellery, cosmetics and perfumes and they spend the night singing traditional songs, dancing and playing drums. Aside from this, henna has been used by the Arabs for thousands of years for many purposes, such as to dye and thicken hair, as a natural cure for headaches, to hasten the healing of wounds and burns and as a natural and nutritious treatment for hair growth. Henna from Madina, the second holiest city in Saudi Arabia, is considered by Arabs to be of the highest grade available in the market.

Important information

We advise that you do a patch test on your neck or arm to make sure you do not have any reaction to it before applying henna art on your hair and/or body.
